CookBuddy started with a problem that sounds small until you live with it: recipes are everywhere, and almost none of them live in a form you can actually cook from.

A TikTok you saved last night. A YouTube video you meant to come back to. A website recipe buried in bookmarks. A photo of a family card in your camera roll. None of those are a cookbook. They are reminders that you found something good, scattered across apps that were never designed to hold dinner.

This blog is where we will write about that problem, the product we are building to solve it, and the wider shift in how people find and keep recipes.

What CookBuddy does

CookBuddy turns a cooking video, social post, webpage, or photo into a written recipe you can save in one cookbook.

Paste a link from TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, or a website. CookBuddy reads the original content and produces a structured recipe: ingredients, steps, optional equipment, and a link back to the source. You can also upload a photo of a handwritten card or a printed page and keep that recipe in the same place.

The point is not to replace the video or the family card. It is to give you a version you can follow at the stove, organize later, and still have if the original post disappears.

Some posts will be product notes. Some will be about the space we are in. All of them should be useful whether you already use CookBuddy or you are just trying to get your recipes under control.

A cookbook should follow you

People do not discover food the way they did when recipes only lived in books. They discover it in the middle of a scroll, in a text from a friend, or in a card that has been in a drawer for twenty years.

A modern cookbook has to meet those recipes where they are, then bring them home.

That is the work. This blog is how we will talk about it in public.
